The Reusser Auen is a called “Flachsee” in German, and is in the Canton of Argau in Switzerland. It’s an artificially created wetland, which was created 1975 when they rebuild a water power station and damm. It is a very popular area to have a nice city break, and in the winter a lot of birds call this their home. Today, on 14.1.2024, we saw a flock of at least 50 storks, and further away 100 grey geese. Well worth walking for a few hours and then have a late lunch in Gasthof Hecht on the way back to the car.
